Free Christmas Dinner

Thanks to my parents Bill and Carolyn Bandera and their heart of giving and the desire they had to give back to their community.
In 1989 a small group of 68 people were served a free, hot, homemade meal at The American Legion Post 80 located in the city of Binghamton, NY.
Included then, as well as now, are turkey, ham, stuffing, yams, mashed potatoes with gravy, vegetables, soup, beverages, homemade cookies and a myriad of desserts.
It’s the “spirit” of giving and the desire to make a difference in people’s lives that has fostered our dedication, commitment and growth, as well as the enduring efforts of countless volunteers.
TThe dinner is now served every year at The American Legion in Binghamton, NY, The American Legion in Norwich, NY and St. Ambrose Church in Endicott, NY. We have buffet lines and community gatherings for our seniors and others at various sites.
The meal and fellowship, free for all people, has continued to blossom. We serve thousands of meals every year!
